Cindy Sheehan

Bush's motorcade to a Texas GOP high faulutin' lunch passed by Cindy Sheehan's protest site. The site was along the normal, and easiest route, but according to reports there were alternative routes available.

The motorcade drove by Ms. Sheehan. It did not stop.

The kicker from the AP story about the passing: "Sheehan, 48, of Vacaville, Calif., set up camp last weekend a few miles from Bush's ranch, and the group with her has now grown to more than 100."

Steadily, the demonstrators are increasing in numbers. It is going to be a hot August in Texas. AP/Houston Chronicle LINK.

With pervasive war-planning uncertainty reported in Peter Baker's article today in the Washington Post, one has to wonder what comes next in this intense, two-person drama.

Because it is related to this stand-off in Texas, the Guardian reports that Sunnis have rejected Shiite federalism (read: Shiite autonomy). The deadline remains fixed on August 15th.

A missed deadline will balloon Cindy's supporters.
