Patrick Kennedy's side effects
I don't want to get into the business of defending every Democrat that has a bad day in the press. But the Washington Post reports Patrick Kennedy (D., R.I.) was on Ambien during his traffic incident.
Ambien is a powerful drug. Drugs.com has a list of side effects.
However, a police investigation ought to be allowed its proper course.

let's keep this blog civil, anonymous.
I was more troubled about the preferential treatment he got, and the whitewashing of his having been at a bar drinking earlier in the evening. Good update above.
Agreed. The treatment sounded preferential. I heard on the news last night that he may have blurted something about going to a vote. I also recall them saying that there is a protection from police interference for vote-bound or office-bound congressmen.
It's a weird story, and a low point to a troubled career. When I read the Ambien thing this morning, I thought it made a great deal of sense. Those drugs can result in sleep walking and the state as described by police.
But, clearly, that was an evasive excuse.
