HBO's "Rome"

I have become quite the fan of this show, which would surprise none of my friends.

Even though I am inclined to like history, historical drama and all things Roman, I believe I could muster an argument in support of this show on the merits. Tonight, I invite you to catch-up, or start-off, your viewing of this show. HBO will air the first three episodes.

In last week's episode, Tobias Menzies as Brutus said the following:

"I do not sleep. I write very bad poetry through the night and in the morning I give it to the cook to stoke the kitchen fires -- form of magic. My ill-conscience is transformed into ... roast birds and pastries."
