From ABC's the Note

Permanent campaign season, LINK.

So, for now, our collective mission is clear: treat this like a campaign, and at the start of each day, predict who will win the news cycle, and at the end of each day, evaluate who won.

Yes, we are somewhat troubled at turning all Note readers into McLaughlin Group panelists, but it must be done.

So, quickly, quickly, quickly, who won yesterday's Katrina political battle???!!

The answer: the Democrats won by several hairs.

As a frustrated Conservative, I'd say they won it by a lot more than just a few hairs....

Yeah, I believe you're right about that, but wow, when I read this, I begin to wonder.

Some Heads Are Gonna Roll, and no, I'm not talking about a Judas Priest song:

Bass, security at the Dome was woeful. There are other good points in this, no one looked great.

It just won't fly though. If the Feds blame the locals, they'll look mean. They might be right, to a point, but they will only get about 35-45 percent of popular opinion... And that's assuming no prominent GOPers defect. A lot hangs on McCain.
