From Russia with folklore
The Los Angeles Times:
MOSCOW -- President Vladimir V. Putin, in a blunt response to U.S. criticism of his domestic and foreign policies, declared today that Russia will boost its military strength to ensure the ability to resist foreign pressure.Nice!!!
In an annual address to parliament, Putin said new weapons will enable his country to maintain a strategic balance with the United States, which he compared to a wolf — the arch-villain in Russian fairy tales — doing as it pleases in the world.

Increased militarism of the globe with "new" weapons in "response" to the US....
Bush makes the world is a safer place my ass.
Russia can't even feed their own let alone build a reliable military
force -- clanky old submarines, tanks that have seized engines, and personnel that are ill-trained. Cite the Kursk incident. Pathetic. For months, surplus frozen beef sent in by the US sat in railway stockyards in Moscow, for crying out loud, and rotted away because they had no firmly established method of distribution. Evident proof that socialism is a complete disaster.
The world IS safer, but I wouldnt credit bush.
